About this event

Summary:
In this introductory presentation you will learn how 'including energy' into your holistic lens can support the therapeutic process. Over the past 8 years, Debbie has incorporated an energetic-lens into her clinical work with clients. Weaving in meditation and concepts of light into sessions, clients have expressed increased empowerment when having anxious thought patterns, greater capacity to feel grounded, and clearer boundaries with healthy vs. unhealthy behavior choices. Debbie uses these practices regularly as a clinician, She finds they have been instrumental for maintaining self-care during and after client interactions, and transformational in navigating challenging sessions. Learn basic concepts of Qigong ("cultivating life-force energy"), and practice techniques you can use yourself!

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain a brief introduction to 5 Element Qigong concepts
  • Learn 1 meditation and 3 gentle movements to calm the mind and increase feeling grounded
  • Explore ways to bring these valuable teachings into your practice for your own self-care and how it can influence the work you do with clients

About the Speaker:
Debbie Mayer has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 20 years, and began incorporating Qigong concepts into her practice over the past 8 years. She uses this holistic lens to bring reflection and curiosity for self-growth and healing. She enjoys meeting with private practice clients, teaching Radiant Lotus Women's Qigong, and providing opportunities to open one's heart to experience qi [chee].
